Chairman… it was very saddening to hear that you passed. You are a pioneer and a detribalised Nigerian. Your commitment to go into the broadcast sector, when others looked elsewhere, endeared me to you.

Chairman, habaaaaaa, you didn’t even wait to see what you said I should do with #TomDickAndAli,… because you thought the show still has huge potential.

I must say, you were bokd and the first to give me a TV platform to host my own show. And it was LIVE!

I had been on #thecharlyboyshow, with @areafada1, on #FridayNiteLive with #patrickdoyle, #morningRide with #FemiSegun and @mallam.nasir.50, and #thesundayshow with #drliviajuonoma… and you said you were impressed with the spontaneous quibs.

That’s how I got a pager message from @kennyogungbe, who invited me to speak with Uncle Ladi Lawal.

I was asked what time would be best for my show. I thought for a while and I said, “5 pm on Sunday.” Steve Kadiri, Denise De Menance, both agreed with Toun, that it was too “prime time” to give that slot to comedy. Ambrose Somide, Baba Keke, and @namureeee thought it was an awesome time.

Uncle Ladi decided he would have to speak with Chairman.
_
He said he met High Chief on his way out and there was no need to discuss it. That Chairman was upset “kpakpa” that he came to ask him about it.
_
My heart sank. The guys who didn’t agree with us lapped it up. “Shebi we talk am?”
_
Baba Keke, said, “But he said we should invite him na”. He turned to one person and asked “My brother you were there abi?”
_
Just as the guy was about to corroborate Baba Keke, the door opened, High Chief walked in… “I want that show on for this Sunday. Make it happen”.
_
“What’s the name of the show?” He asked.
_
Uncle y to our rescue, Ali says he has some names. We will discuss it and come up with a name.
_
He nodded, turned around, and left.
_
Namure and some awesome AIT guys went on to knock the set together, from my sketch, in 3 days, and I later brought all the props on Saturday for a test run.

The show became an instant hit.
