OC boss hails Uduaghan on sports revolution

The President of Nigeria Olympic Committee, Engineer Sani Ndanusa, has praised the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, on his revolutionary strides in sports.
Ndanusa, who was reacting to the just concluded maiden edition of the African Youth Athletic Championship, which Delta State hosted and was won by Nigeria, said that the success of Team Nigeria at the AYAC in Warri was a positive sign that Nigeria athletics was back on track.
Nigerian junior athletes powered to victory in the African championship winning 13 Gold, 10 Silver and 10 medals to beat Egypt, which came second with eight Gold, six Silver and two Bronze medals, while Ethiopia finished third with six Gold, 13 Silver and six bronze medals.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the NOC, Tony Ubani, Ndanusa said he was more excited with the junior athletes because they showed so much vim and vitality that Nigeria holds the future of Athletics in Africa.
Ndanusa, who is also the President of Nigeria Tennis Federation, commended the facilities that were used for the AYAC in the oil rich city of Warri, Delta State.
He said: “The use of Electronic Distance Measurement devices made the work of officials easy.
“The acquisition of the devices will no doubt bring about an improvement in the performances of our country’s athletes.”
Ndanusa also commended the President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Chief Solomon Ogba, for his hard work.
He predicted that Nigeria would bounce back to winning ways with the eloquent programmes of the AFN.
