Jide Obanikoro sends Thank you letter to all Homes in Obalende and ikoyi

Dear Residents,

My warm greetings to you and your entire house hold. I hope my lettter meets you well.

I am Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro, I was the Peoples Democratic Party candidate  in the last House of Assembly election in April of 2011 and Chairmanship election in October of same year. A long time resident of Ikoyi who has a good knowledge of our neighborhoods.

I contested in these elections with the hope of being in a position to add value to our community by increasing  government presence in our neighborhoods, to tackle and provide solutions to some of the issues we face. Issues such as flood, garbage clearing and refuse disposal, the exorbitant land use charges and some laws such as the hotel occupancy law which is a rip off to residents of Ikoyi Obalende. The issue of security in all the private estates and environ including managing our water ways since we are surrounded by water. I wanted to cause a revolution in the provision of infrastructure, the bad public schools, lack of hospitals that can effectively tackle malaria or any illness for that matter. The lack of a fire service station and fire trucks that are of modern standards and can effectively tackle fire outbreak in our local government. I wanted to put in place a master plan for a better and  scientific managment of traffic within Ikoyi Obalende area and lastly to bring about a park or recreational center that will be useful for leisure purposes as we lack a public one at the moment in the local government.

These were the issues I campaigned on, unfortunately I lost out on both ends as a result of serious election malpractice and judicial robbery and rascality.

I send this letter out to express my gratitude and appreciation to you for sharing my views, believing in me and supporting me since 2010 when I actively started my polical career. When I resigned from Zenith bank for a career in public office,  I never thought I would enjoy the tremendeous support that won both elections only to be robbed off by the establishment. I remain commited to making our Local government, State and indeed the Nation a better place for the generations to come.

I look forward to a better future along side you

I really admire your courage and enthusiasm in putting up this spirit-touching letter of gratitude-it shows how much u hold your people in high esteem. It is on the other hand the more staggering and the more shameful that people who have countlessly yarned for a far better electoral polity cannot in their wildest imagination take a queue from the revolutionary inec constituted reformers led by jega-It isn’t change anymore when those that clamoured ‘one man one vote’in d day contrarily adopt ‘one man ten votes’ at night-These people and their cronnies, nigerians at home and in diaspora now know are congenital liers gunning at political gains being prioritized over public interest.victory is alwax certain 4 all that seek an intensification of struggle towards achieving a resounding victory and if truly d interest of ur people who stood long hours under d sun and rain to cast their votes with d zeal, reposed confidence of a change to come-if u were elected d two times u ran is at ur heart-I urge u to evolve new plans of re-engineering your campaigns and aspirations towards puting up a good fight in upcoming elections-and I make bold to tell u -victory ascerta-With compliments from Sultan Oyewole Junaid
