NIHOTOUR Strengthens Strategic Partnerships in Its Transition to a Regulatory Body

As part of its ongoing transformation from a training institute to a full-fledged regulatory authority, the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) is intensifying efforts to build strategic alliances with key government agencies. Under the leadership of its Director-General/CEO, Aare (Dr.) Abisoye Fagade, FIMC, the institute is fostering collaborations aimed at elevating industry standards and reinforcing its regulatory framework for Nigeria’s hospitality, travel, and tourism sector.

In pursuit of this vision, Dr. Fagade has engaged in high-level discussions with prominent government officials, including Mr. Ayodele Subair, Executive Chairman of the Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS); Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC); and Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). These meetings have centered on developing strategic partnerships to enhance compliance, professional certification, and service delivery across the industry.

“Our goal is to establish a well-structured, globally competitive travel, hospitality, and tourism sector. Achieving this requires strong collaborations with key regulatory bodies to align our training, certification, and industry standards with international best practices,” Dr. Fagade stated.

With additional engagements planned, NIHOTOUR remains steadfast in its commitment to driving excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth within Nigeria’s hospitality and tourism landscape.
