Abah Folawiyo born 70years ago as a catholic ,in this interview courtesy Punch talks about how love made her convert from christianity to islam
At this juncture, she delves into her relationships with the opposite sex: “I was with my former husband, Prince Adesanya, who was attending the Celestial church and when we broke up, I simply stopped attending church altogether until I met my late husband, Wahab Folawiyo. Before we got married, he helped in converting me to Islam. I think it was easier for me to get converted because I was in love with him. Again, I found out that Islam is quite easy, you have direct contact with your God,” she says.
Her marriage to Folawiyo made headlines. Even Sisi Abah confesses that with the deceased, she understood love better.
“He was a humble and quiet man who didn’t keep a lot of friends. I was the very outgoing type but when I married him, I had to fit in. I miss him terribly because I was always with him. He was one of the reasons I shut down Labanella in Surulere. Each time I got ready for work, by the time the driver got to a few kilometres, my husband was already calling to ask where I was! He would call me about four to five times before I get to the factory. He always wanted me around him.
“Really, I lived a good life with my late husband. When someone talked about remarriage, I laughed and said, ‘at this age?’ I wouldn’t want any man to spoil the good life I had with Baba Adinni for me. I will remain this way till I die,” she states
