Ogun State Governor, Prince @DapoAbiodunCON, has urged security agencies to implement effective strategies to safeguard lives and property during the Christmas season. Speaking during a courtesy visit from the new Commissioner of @OgunPoliceNG, Mr. Lanre Ogunlowo, at his Oke-Mosan office, Abiodun emphasized the need for vigilance against criminal activities common during the festive period.
The governor highlighted Ogun’s unique geographical position—sharing borders with four states and an international boundary—which brings security challenges due to population influx. He noted that his administration has bolstered the State Security Trust Fund, providing modern equipment to maintain Ogun’s status as one of the most peaceful states, crucial for socio-economic development.
Abiodun also called for inter-agency collaboration, particularly to address cultism, and praised the Inspector General of Police for appointing a competent officer and providing two Armoured Personnel Carriers. He assured continued government support to ensure peace and security across the state.
Mr. Ogunlowo, the new police commissioner, pledged to build on existing achievements and tackle security issues like cultism with renewed strategies. He called for public cooperation with the police and assured citizens of a safe and peaceful festive season.
