Abisoye Fagade and Azuh Arinze
Nigeria’s President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves some kudos for some of the really remarkable things that he’s done so far – and I would like to just point out two.
The first is his knack for identifying quality talents. And the second is ensuring via appointment that these talents are usually deployed to function in their areas of core competence and expertise.
An example that readily comes to mind is the recent appointment of Aare (Dr.) Abisoye Fagade as the Director General of National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism.
Aare Fagade is well known for his interest and excellence in the area of marketing communication. But unknown to many, the Principal Consultant/CEO of Sodium Brand Solutions is equally the owner of Alexia Hotel in Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos, which goes to show that he’s no spring chicken as far as the hospitality industry is concerned. He also owns and runs one of the biggest bakeries in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Those who are asking why the President in his wisdom sent him to that institute can now see one of Asiwaju’s likely reasons.
Born on March 10, 1974 and educated at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, where he read Demography and Social Statistics, Fagade, no doubt, is “a round peg in a round hole” and, in fact, more than eminently qualified for the job. The days ahead, of course, will most definitely unfurl and unfold to the world the stuff that this emerging leader in Nigeria’s political firmament is made of.
Meanwhile, here’s to congratulate him and again assure him of my prayers and that of my family.
