7TH NDIS: GOVERNMENT, POISED TO CREATING SEAMLESS LANDSCAPE FOR DIASPORA INVESTMENT- Minister of Trade

Abuja: November 11, 2024.

As the 7th Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit ends in Abuja, the Federal Government of Nigeria has hinged that it is creating a seamless ecosystem for Diaspora investment anchored on accelerated infrastructural development in all sectors of the economy.

Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs Jumoke Oduwole stated this during the Gala Night, marking the conclusion of the Three-Day Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit, NDIS in Abuja.

Oduwole said, “I have been part of this journey, helping Nigerians abroad navigate business opportunities. As you invest back home, know that we are fully committed to creating and sustaining an enabling environment, with robust policy alignment, trade facilitation, and regulatory support,”

“Stay connected with home—there’s nowhere quite like Nigeria,”she affirmed.

Special Guest of Honour at the Gala Night, Senator Anthony Siyako Yaro, Deputy Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Diaspora, representing Gombe South Senatorial District, reaffirmed that the Nigerian Diaspora is catalyst for economic growth, as the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu projects to target 1 trillion GDP by 2025 with enormous support from the Diaspora Community.

“From the Senate, you have all the support in terms of laws, bills, and policies to advance this initiative.”

He underscored NDIS’s critical role, adding, “We have our marching orders to realize a $1 trillion GDP in the coming years, and NDIS stands as the key catalyst to making this vision a reality.”

The NDIS Team also recognized PhysioCraft Health and Allied Services for their impactful contributions during the pitching session, which showcased innovative projects geared toward national progress.

Others that won awards for their pitches were Victory Belt College of Education and Haske Children Foundation, each with a cash donation of One Hundred Thousand Naira only.

Closing the summit, the Ekiti State Cultural Troupe delivered a vibrant performance, celebrating Nigeria’s cultural heritage and reinforcing the connection between diaspora investors and their roots., while fast rising singer, Dice Ailes, also entertained guests.
