Criticism hurled at box office queen, Funke Akindele, over the demise of fellow actress, Adejumoke Aderounmu, has drawn an equivocal reply from her.
Adejumoke popularly known for her role as “Esther” in Funke Akindele’s popular TV series Jenifa’s Diary, died on Saturday in a private hospital in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital after a protracted illness.
The deceased’s brother, Adeola, broke the news of her death on social media with a post, “You are in a better place now, my sister,” accompanied by her obituary photo.
Adeola’s “eye service” response to the condolences message Akindele authored, and allegations that the popular thespian declined entreaties to lend the late actress a helping hand when she was sick, drew her several netizens’ ire with many laying into her.
In a veiled response to the attack the mother of twins took to her Instagram page to share a quote.
It reads, “Start respecting your energy and stop chasing people who don’t resonate with you.”
