Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission
(NIDCOM), says the book “Omowale: One Man’s Justice Journey”, authored
by Dr. Chris Brooks, an African-American, who has discovered his
Nigerian ancestry and decided to relocate his family to Nigeria, is
highly commendable and heart warming.
Dabiri-Erewa said that while some people are talking of “japa”, others
are talking of “Omowale”, child return home.
She urged the author to state what attracted in making Nigeria his home,
apart from his DNA.
The NIDCOM boss congratulated and welcomed the author, Dr Chris Brooks,
who was claded with the trappings of a Nigerian, back home.
She also informed him of the need to present the book to other parts of
the country.
Brooks, in his response, expressed his happiness to be back home after
hundreds of years of family separation.
He expressed optimism that the message contained in the book, would
resonate with Nigerians who live in the country and in the Diaspora.
He also believed that Nigerians could overcome any obstacle, if remained
united
