Policeman Who Killed Lawyer, Bolanle Raheem, to be Hanged

A Police officer who last year killed a woman lawyer, Bolanle Raheem in Lagos has been sentenced to death.

The court on Monday said must die by hanging.

Inspector Drambi Vandi had fatally shot Bolanle Raheem at the Lekki area of Lagos .

Justice Ibironke Harrison found the defendant guilty on one count of murder saying “You will be hanged by the neck till you are dead,”

The accuserwas the only witness who testified in his own defence.

Vandi had told the court that the bullet presented in court which was said to have killed the deceased did not come from the rifle he carried on the day of the incident.

The killing of Raheem, who was said to be pregnant at the time of her death happened on Christmas Day when on a family outing.
