More roads have now been enlisted for rehabilitation across the State, Ogun State Public Works Agency (OGPWA) has commenced rehabilitation of major roads among which is the Brewery outbound route to Olomore, which was usually water-logged during the peak of the rainy season.
A statement by the agency stated that the rehabilitation works would include the construction of a 140-meter drainage system designed to control water overflow on the right-hand side of the road and a cross culvert to redirect water into the existing culvert on the left-hand side of the road.
The statement further indicated that the existing culvert and drainage (open and covered) LHS would undergo desilting to ensure efficient water flow to the discharge outlet.
It reads,” There are plans to resurface the failed portions of the road to enhance smooth traffic flow for commuters in fulfilment of the infrastructural development drive of the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun “.
It also highlighted the ongoing repair efforts in various locations like Quarry-Agbeloba, Panseke, extending to Oke-Ilewo, Kuto, and Oke-Mosan, as maintenance activities such as repairing damaged sections, removing debris, and many more would be done.
The Agency also outlined its future initiatives to include embarking on additional rehabilitation and reconstruction projects across major roads in the 20 Local Governments, urging motorists to take cognizance of traffic signs, when approaching road work zones.
