Nigeria doesn’t need a messiah, but a functional system,” Peller insists *

… says 2023 must usher in pro-youth government

A federal lawmaker representing representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency at the green chamber, Honourable Shina Peller, has reiterated his commitment towards advocating for a functional system that will work for all Nigerians both home and abroad, irrespective of ethnic, political or religious affiliation.

Honourable Peller stated this in his throwback post re-shared on his social media platforms on Saturday, where he reminded all that on August 13, 2020 even before End Sars hullabaloo, he had tweeted and posted about the need to usher in a new system that works for all, and the need for Nigerian youths to get involved actively in the process.

In addition, the Oke Ogun-born federal lawmaker happily noted that the advocacy is now manifesting as youths are now getting more interested in politics and are ready to take back their country, whilst he argued that the best thing for the country at this point in time is to usher in a pro-youth government in 2023 to match up with her contemporaries in other parts of the world where the youth are the ones at the helms of affairs.

Similarly, Honourable Peller advised Nigerian youths to disregard the idea that Nigeria needs a messiah, but concentrate on ensuring that necessary strategies are implemented to identify a team of leaders that will work passionately, selflessly and patriotically together to achieve a functional system that will make the country better.

He identified We2geda Nigeria as a veritable platform through which credible leaders with competence, good character, courage and capacity can be identified, informing all to watch out for the candidate selection criteria which will be launched by the movement soon.

“THROWBACK: On 13th August 2020 (even before the END SARS) I tweeted about the need for Nigerian youths to actively get involved in the process of electing leaders of the country and usher in a new system that works for the common man. It gladdens my heart to see that it is manifesting as youths are getting more interested in politics and are showing readiness to take back their country.

“Once again, I’m advising Nigerian youths to disregard the idea that Nigeria needs a Messiah. We do not need one. Nigeria needs a functional system that works for all. At a time like this, we should be implementing strategies to identify a team of leaders that will be working together to achieve this common goal. This is not the time to vote any particular party “Top to Bottom” as this is a recipe for complete disaster.

“Follow @we2geda as we launch candidate selection criteria that can guide you in identifying credible leaders according to Competence, Character, Courage and Capacity.

“The interest of Nigerian youths has always been my concern regardless of my political leaning, religion or tribe. There are more young people in the world today and it is the responsibility of our Government to provide an enabling environment for youths to thrive. With the existence of technology it has become paramount to usher in a pro-youth Government in order for NIGERIAN youths to match up with their mates in other parts of the world.”
