Letter To Our Distinguished PDP Delegates
Dear Ogun State PDP delegates, as you all are aware that the court has ordered a rerun of the violent and manipulated governorship primary election of 25th May 2022 where one of the aspirants unleashed thugs on you for daring to exercise your constitutionally guaranteed right to vote and be voted for at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library(OOPL), Abeokuta.
I hope you remembered that it was only those wearing white that were spared on that fateful day as thugs loyal to one of the governorship aspirants went on the rampage. It was the attack that led to the unfortunate death of the late Alhaji Monsuru Ayinde, one of the delegates from Ward 13, Abeokuta South LG.
After his unfortunate death, the late Alhaji Ayinde was surprisingly tagged a “thug”, just to change the narrative of the event that led to his death while the governorship aspirant didn’t deem it fit to pay ordinary courtesy visit to the family of the late party member.
As another gubernatorial primary election draws nearer, expect an unusual patronage and calls with difficult to resist offers of ‘money for your vote’ even though they never see you as deserving of as an ad-hoc delegate member in the first place.
In fact, they deposed to several affidavits in courts saying you are not members of the party and that you didn’t buy or fill delegate forms. Sunday Solarin repeated the same thing on Wednesday on Super FM, Ijebu Ode. So, how can they buy or ask for the votes of non-members of the party? How can they justifiably ask people whom they have said are not delegates to vote for them? If you do, they will treat you as non-members and outcasts that they have tagged you once they get the mandate!
Do not let one of our own Alhaji Monsuru Ayinde die in vain. Doing so will amount to spitting on the grave of the departed. His two widows and eight children, and indeed the good people of Ogun state and the whole world are watching. Let’s rise above the mundane.
