***INTENDS TO EXTEND SUCH VISIT TO ALL EMIRATES IN THE STATE
In a bid to share the moment of love and concern to citizens of the state, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has celebrated this year’s Eid-el-Fitr away from his Emirate in Kontagora.
The Governor celebrated the end of annual Ramadan Fast among the people of Lapai and Agaie Emirates.
Governor Sani Bello who spoke to Journalists at the Palace of the Emir of Agaie, Alh. Yusuf Nuhu, said as the Governor to all Nigerlites, he intends to extend such visits to all the eight Emirates in the State particularly during Sallah celebrations before his tenure ends.
He noted that during festive periods like Sallah, most of the people travel back to their Emirates to celebrate with their loved ones, pointing out that visiting them during the period would strengthen the relationship between the leader and the led.
Governor Sani Bello also acknowledged that visit to Emirates during Sallah, avails him the opportunity to learn more about the culture and traditions of the people as they engage in various activities including Durbar during the celebration.
He said he took the decision some years back and started by celebrating Sallah in Bida Emirate just before COVID-19.
“In 2019 I was in Bida, unfortunately COVID came in and this year I came to Lapai and Agaie hoping to go to other places next Sallah. I intend to go to all the Emirates before I leave”, he said.
The Emirs of Lapai and Agaie, Alh. Tafida Umar Bago III and Alh. Nuhu expressed delight over the Governor’s visit to celebrate with them and commended his intension to visit other Emirates in the State during Sallah celebrations.
The Governor was showered with lots of gifts by the people of the Emirates who were elated by his visit and he exchanged pleasantries with all the critical stakeholders in the Emirates.
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello had earlier visited Lapai Emirate where he joined the Emir, Alh. Umar Bago III and other congregation who converged on the Lapai Eid praying ground to perform the two rakka’at prayer for the Eid-el-Fitr celebration and thereafter a brief reception was held in his honour.
