Description of Our Nation, Nigeria
How and Why I Stopped Going to Church
2 Thess. 2 v 16 & 17: v.16 “Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace.”
v.17 “Comfort your hearts and stablish you in every good word and work.”
Isaiah 43 v 13: “Yea, before the day was, I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?”
2 Cor. 1 v 3: “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;”
We are aware of what is happening in our nation. This is a nation blessed of God and abundantly endowed; a nation with diverse resources that are inexhaustible; a nation with world class technocrats and cerebral Think Tank.
A nation with Humus soil and evergreen vegetation, enviable landscape and richly natured water ways and creeks; a nation with immense talents and human resources beyond measure.
Our Motherland Nigeria:
- A nation that refuses to break in the face of strange happenings over the years.
- A nation where there is an extreme wealth for a very few people and extreme poverty for the countless masses.
- A nation where the so-called god fathers are playing games with the destinies of the masses.
- A Nation where looters and thieves are being celebrated and hailed.
- A Nation that the leaders only react when things have gone bad without solutions.
- A Nation with waters but the people are thirsty.
- A Nation where money politics is the order of the day.
- A Nation rich but yet poor.
- A Nation without electricity.
- A Nation without good roads.
- A Nation without good schools.
- A Nation without industries.
- A Nation without functional refineries.
- A Nation without adherence to the rule of Law.
- A Nation that has no plans for the youths.
- A Nation where good people are not allowed to rule.
- A Nation having vagabonds squandering our resources.
- A Nation where leaders pride themselves in occultism, sexual vices and extravagant lifestyle.
- A Nation being used as a dumping ground for used items.
- A Nation where corruption is everywhere.
- A Nation that has no single NATIONAL AIRLINE functioning.
- A Nation where medieval, written-off, air vessels are welcome.
Some Questions to Ponder Upon
- Why did Nigerian Airways collapse?
- Who were those responsible for the mismanagement?
- Kenya thrives on Aviation income, why not Nigeria?
- What is the Aviation Minister doing?
- Don’t we have resources to prospect, Brand New Aircrafts Locally for the major routes? LAGOS – ABUJA/PH/OWERRI/KADUNA/KANO/BENIN etc.
- Can’t we stop doing what is wrong and start doing what is right?
- Why do we fly people with coffins in the Air?
- Can any compensation replace the lives lost?
- Why are the Leaders speaking, “Political placating grammar” without drastic measures to stop these grave and irreplaceable losers?
- Is there Aviation Regulation at all in this country?
- So many questions begging for answers?
2 Chronicles 7 v 13 & 14: v.13: “Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.”
v.14 “For if I have boasted anything to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.”
It is Time for Nigeria to Arise: My Suggested Action Points
The Pandemic season has exposed Nigeria as a nation. We need to take the under-listed steps.
Review our Governance System
The present system does not portray true Federalism, and the cost of Governance is too humongous. The present system makes the states to depend on the centre. So, our current constitution must be discarded and a new one written. Let there be six regions from the present six Geo-political zones. Let there be a President with six Vice Presidents from the six regions. Let us adopt a “Zero Party System”.
Candidates should be elected on their knowledge, integrity, patriotism, intelligence, pedigree, and record of performance. The concept of federal character must be totally eradicated. We must consciously involve youths in governance at all levels.
Local Government reforms are very expedient. I hereby call for Operation 774 – each local government must have a well-equipped hospital; local government chairman must be held accountable for the funds allocated to them. Elders above 70 years should play supervisory roles.
We must reduce parastatals and cost of governance.
Power Generation
Make power generation number one priority.
Let us be intentional about it without playing politics
Ban generator importation.
Enact capital punishment for erring defaulters.
Ban Importation of Goods that Can Be Produced Locally
Let us actualise a Higher Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) in the international market by:
a. Reducing Importation.
b. Increasing Local Production of certain essential commodities.
c. Aggressive development of Agriculture in all the 36 states.
d. Intensive Mining of our Mineral resources.
e. Encouraging Nationwide SMES.
Health Sector Reforms
- Operation 774 – we should establish comprehensive primary and basic Health Centres in our 774 Local Government Areas with the latest medical facilities.
- Doctors and all categories of medical personnel must be well-trained and adequately motivated with reasonable salaries.
- Organise a national Medical Conference to analyse the issues and agree on solutions.
- Dismantle illegal drug Manufacturing companies and encourage the genuine ones.
- Rural medication for the poor.
Renovation of all Federal Medical Hospitals. - Build Estates for Medical Workers
- Training on advanced Instrumentation for Medical Personnel
- Better remuneration for all medical workers
- Medical exchange programme with standard Hospitals globally
- Establishment of a global Medical Centre that can treat our President and Nobles within Nigeria.
Police Reform
- The Police Force must not be the dumping ground of the dregs and rejects of the society. We should encourage young, educated, dedicated, honest, and patriotic people to enlist.
- We must make the job of policing the state attractive to the right calibre of people who will not be easily compromised by pecuniary incentives.
- The bad eggs who connive with criminals must be identified, prosecuted, and jailed. Dismissal is not enough as these corrupt officials simply reunite with their criminal allies to terrorise the people. They must be made to serve long jail terms.
- The Police must be well-funded and equipped. The uniforms must be new and well maintained.
Youth Vocational Centres
- We should establish vocational and skills acquisition centres for youths in all the 774 local government areas.
- These centres must be well funded and must be active, carrying out training activities all-round the year.
Accurate National Census
- We need a reliable and comprehensive national database of all Nigerians in order to plan accurately.
- A truthful national head count is inevitable if we are serious about strategic planning.
Industrialisation
- Industrialisation is the engine of economic growth. No nation survives by importing almost everything it needs.
- We need to be rededicated to the promotion of industries that will produce to meet local demand and also export to earn foreign exchange.
- Our reputation as a net importing and consuming nation must change. We must begin to produce the things we use. We can do it.
- A working national industrialisation policy is needed. All states and local governments must have functional industries that will take advantage of our enormous natural resources.
- The Bank of Industry and the CBN must increase the quantum of funds that are made available to our SMEs and large industries. Producing for export will earn us the much-needed foreign exchange and ease the pressure on the Naira.
Rule of Law and Independence of the Judiciary
- The concept of Separation of Powers and the independence of the Judiciary must be fully observed and respected. We must restore the dignity of the judiciary and ensure that it is no longer a willing tool in the hands of politicians and the executive arm of government.
Energy
Nigeria must adopt an integrated approach towards the production of energy.
- Wind: The government should partner with the private sector to set up wind farms.
- Water – All our turbines must be renovated to make them functional.
- Coal: The government should re-visit the Enugu coal depot. South Africa as a nation generates her energy through coal.
- Bioenergy and Nuclear are other options worth exploring.
Education Reforms
- Replace the existing archaic and moribund school curriculum with a 21st Century hands-on school curriculum.
- Let there be a forum for all the commissioners of Education from all the States. The Minister for Education and all the commissioners must go on a RETREAT to devise workable solutions.
- The Retreat will evaluate educational standards in various states, analyse the problems, and proffer solutions.
- The Forum will set up an implementation programme by passing a Bill both at Federal and State levels.
- A monitoring group should be set up to ensure that schools are well-renovated and equipped. New salary structures for teachers, lecturers, and stakeholders.
- Teachers should be motivated and encouraged: Incentives for teachers, lecturers, and others: Housing grants, New cars, Scholarship for their children, Training home and abroad.
- Punishment for those involved in exam malpractices and blacklisting of schools involved and tutorial centres.
- Effective monitoring of Private Schools and Institutions.
Road Network
- The National Assembly should pass a bill mandating every local government to construct 50 Roads; every State to construct 100 Roads, and the Federal Government 200 roads. Failure to comply should lead to their allocations being withheld. Their Allocations will be released after compliance.
- The road designs must be made public and tested engineers with 25 to 30 years of experience should supervise the construction.
- Proper soil text and analysis should be done
- Life spans made open and pasted on poles
- Effective monitoring system and proper maintenance
- Qualified and tested contractors to be awarded
Police Reformation
- The state of the Nigerian Police force is very discouraging. The Force needs urgent attention. Police stations must be renovated and be made conducive.
- Police Quarters in all the states should have basic social amenities such as Post Offices, Malls, potable water, power supply, standard schools. Scholarship for Police Children up to Secondary School Level – A great motivation.
- New set of firearms for the Police – This is expedient.
- Communication equipment – This is imperative.
- They should have access to grants as motivation.
- Better Salary: A corporal should earn minimal of N75,000.00 monthly = $500
Sports
- Ethnicity should not be a parameter
Sports administrators should be professionals, not politicians - Our sports facilities to be upgraded to world class
- More stadia to be built to world standard
Niger Delta
- Federal efforts so far made highly commended
- The problem is highly spiritual – Prophetic attention needed
- Foreigners involved in High sea bunkering to be prosecuted
- Massive infrastructural development in Niger Delta areas
- All stakeholders siphoning money to be prosecuted
- Youth orientation programme needed.
Bank Reforms
We should introduce specialized banks to focus on the peculiar needs of the different segments of the society. Hence, we should have regional Banks, Education Banks, Industrial Banks, entertainment Banks, Youth Empowerment Banks, Energy Banks, Religious Banks, Traders Banks, People’s Banks, Mortgage Banks, etc.
Aviation
- General overhauling of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport and establishment of a new world-class International Airport.
- The Federal Government must revive NIGERIAN AIRWAYS through Wet and Dry leasing of modern aircrafts. We should start with three aircrafts to be deployed to profitable International routes – US, UK, and Dubai. Start with three vessels on local routes ABUJA, KANO, PORT-HARCOURT, LAGOS
We should invite retired, well-trained pilots as consultants. - More facilities at Aviation Training School, Zaria
- Pilot & Engineers Village
Back to Agriculture
- All the States to be involved
- Agricultural Farm Settlement in all the states
- Invite the Israeli farmers for trainings
- Introduce mechanized farming massively
Transportation System
- Rail: Electric train is possible
- Road
- Sea
- Air
Enthroning Meritocracy and Allowing TECHNOCRATS TO EXHIBIT THEIR POTENTIALS
- The System (Federal) should allow technocrats to exhibit their potentials.
- Put round pegs in round Holes
- An Engineer chosen as Minister of Health is an aberration
- Let us de-emphasize politics in posting manpower to sensitive posts
GIVE YOUNG PEOPLE A CHANCE
- Young people should be given platforms and opportunities to excel.
- Let there be Youth Orientation Centres in all the States to prepare them for adulthood challenges.
- Let Youths be involved in national conferences.
- The Youths must be motivated to love their country.
- Bank to start young graduates in Entrepreneurship
PUNISHMENT FOR ERRING GOVERNMENT WORKERS, PUBLIC SERVANTS, CONTRACTORS, etc.
President Buhari must be firm, assertive, and objective in dealing with corruption in the public and private sectors.
VOCATIONAL CENTRES
- Establishment of Trade Centres in all the States
- Establishment of more Technical Colleges
- Graduates of Technical Colleges, Polytechnics, University should be recruited and adequately rewarded
RELIGIOUS BODIES
- We must encourage our followers to love Nigeria and pray for our leaders.
- We must be involved in the New Nigeria
CHURCH OF GOD
- Our own Airline (Jesus Airline)
- Our own media organizations (newspaper, radio, and TV)
- Our own T.V. Station (Zion TV)
- Our own Radio Station (Voice of Jesus or Voice of Jehovah)
- Our own Research & Development Centre (R&D)
- Our own Mega Bank
- Political Think Tank and Pressure Group
Entrepreneurship Forum - Technocrat Forum
