Eid-el-fitri: Mimiko Felicitates Muslims, Says Better Days Ahead

Immediate past Governor of Ondo state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has extended his warmest wishes to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitri, the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Mimiko in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, John Paul Akinduro, said though “Eid-el-Fitri, is a season to celebrate and express gratitude to Almighty Allah, it marks a new beginning for each individual to always imbibe the lessons of Ramadan”.

He said the 2020 edition of Eid-el-Fitri is a special one due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has wreaked havoc globally and “admonished all to renew their commitments to help and pray for those who have been hit by the virus and all essential workers on the frontlines. There are better days ahead, we only have to trust and hope in God to strengthen us to overcome this scourge”

The former Governor also urged everyone celebrating to do so within the NCDC guidelines for Covid-19 saying “for millions of Muslims across the world, physical gatherings may be impossible but this time will not last and I pray for more Eid celebrations in good health”
