We are fully ready to tackle coronavirus now – Uch Cmd

The University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan is now better positioned for the COVID-19 as well as post COVID-19 era.
The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo disclosed this while featuring on a live programme on the Space FM 90.1 station in Ibadan.

Prof. Otegbayo pointed out that the hospital had trained and retrained its personnel to handle the situation at this period and also in readiness for the post COVID-19 era.
He said further that the lessons of COVID 19 has challenged the hospital to look beyond it and plan for the future.

The CMD also reiterated the smooth relationship between the UCH and the Oyo State Government in the fight against the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the stock of protective equipment against COVID-19 was increased by the donation from the Oyo State Secretariat of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC). The organization donated hand washing soap and sanitizers to the hospital. The CMD expressed the hospital’s sincere appreciation to the NYSC whilst encouraging other well meaning organisation to also donate to the cause of fighting the COVID-19 by the hospital.

The CMD has congratulated the Nurses and Midwives in the hospital, Nigeria and the world over on this year’s International week of Nurses and Midwives. He described them a vital segment in the health care delivery system.

We are glad to inform that for over one week running, the hospital has not recorded any new case of COVID 19.

The University College Hospital, Ibadan will continue to render excellent care and services to all our patients. The Hospital equally enjoins everyone to adhere to the required infection prevention and control measures prescribed by the WHO and the NCDC, such as physical distancing, regular hand washing, use of hand sanitizers & face masks. We will continue to update the public accordingly.
