I hope that you and your loved ones are keeping safe.
At GTBank, our people are our most valuable asset, and your health and safety is our utmost concern. That is why we are constantly monitoring the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak and taking all the necessary precautions to make sure that our workplaces remain safe for everyone. Our customers and stakeholders are also counting on us during this difficult time, and it is our duty to be there for them, as they navigate the uncertainties caused by this outbreak.
As an organization, beyond the safety measures we have put in place across our offices and branches, we are also lending ourselves to doing more to beat this outbreak. We are setting up a fully equipped 100- bed Intensive Care Centre at Onikan for the Nigerian people. The Centre will be fully equipped with all the necessary equipment including respirators and personnel to treat and care for those that may become affected. We are fully committed to having the Centre fully set up by the end of this week.
As you know, COVID-19 is having a growing impact on every aspect of our society, and it is only by working together that we can defeat the outbreak. Individually, this means that we must assume a greater sense of responsibility, not just for our own sake but for those around us. At work, it is absolutely critical that we practice social distancing and make more use of our collaborative digital platforms to get work done. Out of office, it is important that we remain very cautious of where we go and the people we come in contact with.
Indeed, these are very tough times, and I hope that in our personal times of prayer and reflection, we would remember all those who are suffering as a result of this outbreak. Together, I am very confident that we will not only overcome this challenge, but also emerge stronger as an organization.
Please stay safe by maintaining proper hygiene and following all the guidelines stipulated by the relevant authorities.
We will continue to monitor the situation very closely and take every step necessary to keep you and everyone safe.
Thank you and have a good evening.
