Nigeria’s only radio station for women and their families, Women Radio 91.7 has rolled out a 5-minute radio drama series on 6 stations in Nigeria highlighting the effects of corruption on women under its gender and accountability initiative.
According to Aiki Odiawa consultant on the project, the WomenRadioDrama series was necessitated by the seemingly silence of the country as regards increased corruption in different sectors of the economy including security, justice, health, education and employment of which women are mostly affected.
Known for its stance on using radio as a tool for women development, the WomenRadioDrama series is geared towards amplifying the voices of women to speak out against corruption and demand accountability. Odiawa said the RadioDrama is a 13-episode series presently airing on 6 radio stations across Nigeria’s geo-political zones every Wednesday at 7.25am on Liberty FM 91.7 Kaduna, 6.20pm on Sobi FM 101.9 Ilorin, 8am on Inspiration FM 101.5 Uyo, 11.50am on Women Radio 91.7, 1.10pm on Ogun Radio 90.5 Abeokuta and 1.25pm on Dream FM 92.5 Abia.
The WomenRadioDrama series is an initiative of Women Radio 91.7 in partnership with Women’s Rights Advancement Protection Alternative (WRAPA) supported by the MacArthur Foundation
