HALOGEN GROUP PARTNERS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ON 2020 TOKYO OLYMPIC, ADOPTS ODUNAYO

Halogen – Nigeria’s leading security risk group has announced a partnership with the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development to adopt Nigeria’s commonwealth senior category gold medalist and Olympic wrestling gold medal hopeful, Odunayo Adekuoroye. The adoption of the leading female athlete by Halogen Group marks an early win for the federal government’s recently launched “Adopt an Athlete” initiative aimed at producing world champions for the country in the coming 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

In a statement, the management of Halogen Group commended the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Sunday Dare for the pragmatic innovation of enlisting the organized private sector in the development of sports in Nigeria, describing the initiative as a fresh idea capable of unleashing a new era of global glory for Nigerian sports and athletes.

Halogen Group described its decision to be one of the first corporate organizations to key into federal government’s “Adopt an Athlete” and the Work Experience Programme, another of the Ministry’s initiatives designed to help promising Nigerian youth acquire job-based technical training as a reflection of its own culture and heritage of leading change in its sector and embracing innovation in all ramifications.

Halogen, which earlier this year unveiled an elaborate transformation into a technology-centered and digital-driven security risk solutions group, explained that Odunayo Adekuoroye’s exceptional performance as an athlete fits perfectly into its own DNA of excellence and focused pursuit of the number one position in all that it does.

She is an epitome of Halogen brand with her boundless energy, passion for excellence and uncommon commitment to winning.

The Halogen boss explained that these sterling attributes make the international wrestling superstar and Nigeria’s Olympic Gold medal hopeful in 2020 Tokyo a beautiful choice that resonates with the Halogen brand. Our decision as one of the first corporate organizations to embrace the federal government’s “Adopt an Athlete” initiative confirms our tradition as a ready partner with the government beyond providing security risk solutions. We have always been a pioneer in whatever we commit ourselves to.”

The Minister of Sports, Mr. Sunday Dare at the official launch of the Adopt an Athlete campaign noted that Nigeria’s government alone cannot bear the huge expenses required to manage several Athletes to the global game without supports from the private sector and endowed individuals. According to the Minister, Nigeria’s sports sector has the biggest potential to catapult the country into the top ten economies in the world.

Halogen Group is committed to safety in an open world through its principles of excellence, professionalism integrity and an unquenchable thirst for digital innovation that brings value across all the security value chains to individuals, corporate organizations and government institutions.
