Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has congratulatulated the Governor-elect of Bayelsa State, Mr. David Lyon on his election at the polls on Saturday to end the 20-year reign of PDP in the State.
Also, Governor Abiodun described the confirmation of the Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello as well deserved.
In a statement by Gov Abiodun’s Chief Press Secretary, the results of the gubernatorial elections in the two states laid to rest all the reservations oppositions exhibited after the last general election
“I am confident that Mr Lyon will uphold the principles of governance of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC)”.
He added that “it is my prayer that the Almighty would be his ultimate guide as he embarks on the socio-economic development and overall transformation of Bayelsa.”
The statement added that the Gov Abiodun applauded the people of Kogi’s wisdom on “this deserved reelection”.
“My Kogi State counterpart, Mr Yahya Bello who got re-elected by the popular vote of the people into office in Saturday’s governorship election, I believe, will be reciprocated by more projects and dedication to the peoples welfare”.
He added that Mr Yahya Bello, who has during his first term, served the State on a mission to advance all sectors, will surely further efforts in his strides.
Abiodun congratulated the APC, on whose pedestal the incumbent Governor elloband the incoming Governor Lyon ran for election.
“May we – APC – always win!”, he concluded.
