Prostitution Cartel Raid in Ikeja:13 Chinese Prostitutes Arrested

About a month ago, we informed you about a high class brothel run on 24 and 26B Emina Crescent, off Toyin Street Ikeja,  and a lot of people  expressed censure on why until now, the government has done nothing to stop this barbaric practice. Thankfully, its is now a thing of the past as the National Immigration Service has  intervened by storming the apartment and arresting 13 Chinese girls and two boys, following a tip-off.

Over a short period of time, more than 40 girls have been brought into the country and camped in an apartment for Nigerian politicians, business executives and expatriates to hire for sex at the cost of between $1,000 and $2,500. The cartel was run by Chinese couple named Sun and Yin Li in conjunction with some Nigerian who bring these teenage girls into the Country under the pretext of offering them jobs in factories.

They’ve been operating for a while and a source in the know said the business was booming and the couple were in the process of importing more girls before they were raided. Only 13prostitutes consisting of 11girls and 2boys were picked from the apartment. The Chinese couple, along with some other girls, managed to escape from the apartment and are now in hiding.

NIS spokesman, Joachim Olumba confirmed the arrest and said the girls are in their custody. He also said they are on the trail of the kingpin of the sex ring.

Olumba, however, expressed  regret that the informant who made the distress call that led to the investigation and arrest of the suspects, had yet to be rescued because she did not give a clear description of her location in Lagos.

The NIS Arresting Officer, Chinwe Obi, in her statement said the Chinese Embassy in Abuja was in touch with the suspects, and that arrangements were being made to ease them out of the country.

One of the victims, Lu Yui Suan, however, denied allegations that they were arrested for prostitution.
