Update On Funmi Lawal-Plus Meka Rhythm Abuja OAP Still Needs Our Help.

To say that I am impressed at the positive response to Funmi Lawal’s case will be a sheer understatement. In about three days, more then the required N4 million for her operation has been raised, and people are still contributing generously. As at wednesday,  which happened to be the first day of the week due to Ramadan festivities, Funmi had recorded over N5 million  and as a result sent out this message:

I cannot at this moment but
thank everyone who has helped me
by donating.

More than anything I am convinced against all odds that Nigerians are kind and warm hearted people.

Speaking to her brother recently, he says that Funmi has commenced the first stages of treatment in preparation for the operation. This involves conducting various tests some of which might entail minor operations to prepare a comprehensive evaluation report which will then be forwarded to the specialist hospital where the operation will be done.

He says, hopefully by next week, the tests will be concluded, and results sent to the specialists abroad. They in turn will send a medical  report and invitation to the embassy, after which Funmi will then travel for her operation.

At this point all we can  do to support her is keep her in  our prayers.

The work is not done however as there is still Rhythm’s OAP Meka who needs our help.

About a week ago, I informed you about of Meka Akerejola of Rhythm 94.7fm Abuja who needs N7 Million for a kidney transplant.
Meka is still in need of our help.  The 31-year-old Meka, is an orphan who is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.  He was diagnosed with high blood pressure in 2010 and after further tests was discovered to have a failed kidney.
He has interviewed some of Nigeria’s biggest stars and made sure we had a smooth sailing to work every morning With “The Morning Drive”.
So far he has received over N2m. Please let us save MEKA! Let us save the man that once made us smile every morning as we drive to work.
Donations can be made at Zenith Bank branches- Account no 2080664569, Account Name Akerejola Meka or Call Ojo Olawale on 07025096839.
Just like Funmi I know we can do this too!
