A group of concerned women professionals, Nigerian Women for Change, (NWC), has decried the unsavory media attacks on Chief (Mrs.) Kemi Nelson, the South-West Women Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC). The group has fingered controversial Lagos politician, Jumoke Okoya-Thomas as being behind the libellous onslaught and
has appealed to the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu to wade into the row between Nelson, the political Amazon and Okoya-Thomas.
The group, pleaded with Asiwaju Tinubu and Oba Akiolu to admonish Okoya-Thomas, a former member of the House of Representatives and the Women’s leader of APC in Lagos State, to desist from publicly embarrassing the APC, Lagosians, Women and both female personalities by spreading unfounded disparaging stories about Nelson.
The group noted that any personality clash, or leadership tussle between Nelson and Okoya-Thomas within the APC, is best fought and resolved behind closed doors rather than Okoya-Thomas making it a public spectacle to her own detriment.
