In recent times, the no of ritual killings and recorded missing persons has been on the rise, particularly in Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja. I have recently reported cases where people went missing, secondary school students sold their classmates, children got beheaded, brothers killed brother, and even parents killed their biological children all in the name of “rituals”-a means to getting quick unmerited money. The question I ask myself daily as different stories, more bizarre than previously reported ones spring up is that “What is the world really turning into? Are this indeed signs of end time? Is anyone safe at all? The questions are endless with no forthcoming answers.
Even more alarming is the fact that the cases of people going missing, being sold or killed seem to be higher in Abuja than any other state in Nigeria. This deduction stems from the recent number of cases reported, and what I was told by persons who have been frequenting Abuja in recent times.
According to what I was learnt, the newest method used by these men of the underworld is to hide in the boot of cabs, ambush the passenger from behind, behead him or her then park somewhere to dismember other body parts. Although some day cases have being recorded, I’m told its happens more often at night, particularly in secluded areas. So alarming is the situation in Abuja that it has now become common practice for passengers to demand a boot search before boarding a cab, and the the cab-men oblige, knowing that the current unrest in the city has pushed people to take the role of police men, all in a bid to take precauti0n.
After talking to a few people, who confirmed the situation, I could not help but look back at the boot several times while in the cab that brought me home yesterday night…lol! My human and survival instincts completely took over me o! On a more serious note however, this is just to let you, our esteemed readers, particularly those who reside in Abuja know the situation of things in their environs. Although in the end, it is God who keeps us all, taking a little precaution wont hurt anyone!
So when next you have cause to take a cab in Abuja, please insist on a boot search. Don’t worry, no one will look at you as paranoid, as it is now common practice.
excellent post, very informative. I ponder why the opposite experts of this
sector don’t understand this. You should continue your writing.
