A member of the House of Representatives representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Honourable Shina Abiola Peller, yesterday urged the indigenous people of Oke-Ogun to unite as an entity for the progress and development of the region.
He made this appeal at Saki Central Mosque, Saki after observing Jumat service with them.
Hon. Peller, who arrived at the central mosque to the admiration of Saki residents, explained that lack of unity in Oke-Ogun has continuously led to the underdevelopment of the region and appealed for a more united Oke-Ogun region.
He said, “As we all know, Saki local government is not under my constituency as a federal legislator, but it is one of the ten local governments that make up Oke-Ogun region; my region, your region, our region; we are brothers and sisters of the Oke-Ogun region.
“I have come all the way from Iseyin to observe Jumat service with you here today as a way of preaching unity and peaceful coexistence of the people of Oke-Ogun, which is imminently required at this point in time for us to advance appropriately and become a region to reckon with in Oyo State, Nigeria and the world at large.”
Welcoming Hon. Shina Peller into their midst, the Chief Imam of Saki Central Mosque, Alhaji Abdul Azeez Kunmi Jeje, appreciated him for his quest for Oke-Ogun unity and added that even in the Holy Qur’an, God emphasized so much on the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence of mankind.
