ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS IN EKITI, FAYEMI TELLS NEW CORPS MEMBERS

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has described the Land of
Honour as a fertile grand for corps members to achieve their dreams
and launch themselves on the path of greatness.

The Governor said his administration was committed to doing everything
possible within the available resources to give them an enabling
environment to function and maximize their potentials.

Fayemi spoke Thursday during the swearing-in of the members of Batch
‘B’ Stream 1 corps members deployed to Ekiti State held at the NYSC
Permanent Orientation Camp, in Ise/Orun/Emure.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, Fayemi
called on the 2,019 corps members to project the peace and unity of
the country which are parts of the aims and objectives of the NYSC
scheme.

According to a statement signed by the Special Assistant (Media) to
the Deputy Governor, Odunayo Ogunmola, the oath of allegiance was
administered on the new corps members by Justice Abiodun Adesodun on
behalf of the Chief Judge, Justice Ayodeji Daramola.

The Governor explained that the scheme had helped a lot in terms of
ensuring national integration, unity and even distribution of needed
professional manpower for development of the country.

Fayemi, however, tasked Corps members serving across Nigeria to always
ensure that whatever decision taken by them better the lots of their
host communities.

The Governor described Ekiti as one of the most peaceful states in the
country calling on the new corps members to feel at home and settle
down to the business of serving their fatherland in the next one year.

He said: “Let me at this juncture say that Ekiti State is one of the
most peaceful states in Nigeria of today. You can plan your life and
actualize your dreams here in Ekiti. The indigenes are very
hospitable, accommodating and peace loving.”

“While wishing you all a successful and rewarding orientation
exercise, I enjoined you to relate freely with your colleagues and
members of your community to enable them benefit from your potential
and professional expertise.”

Earlier, the State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Emmanuella Okpongete
appreciated contributions of the Ekiti State government for the
renovation and beautification of the Camp.

Mrs. Okpongete warned that the scheme would not tolerate any act of
indiscipline that could mar the image and purpose the NYSC was
created.

The NYSC boss charged the corps members to key into the skills
acquisition and entrepreneurship development to reduce the rate of
unemployment in the country.

She urged them used the opportunity of serve their fatherland to build
a better Nigeria by demonstrating patriotism and jettison ethnicity,
sectionalism and tribalism.
