IMO: GOVERNOR IHEDIOHA SWEARS IN 27 NEW L.G.A CHAIRMEN.

The executive governor of Imo state, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON, yesterday, Tuesday, June 18, sworn in 27 Local Government Area (L.G.A) Chairmen of Interim Management committee, at the Expanded Exco Chamber, Government House Imo state.

Speaking to the new Chairmen after swearing in, the Governor told them to be very serious and zealous in discharging their duties. He told them to be very careful, so as to ensure that the people of Imo state, specifically their people from the Local Government Areas, will truly feel the new government well. Governor Ihedioha warned them to be up and doing, he equally asked them to be transparent, for they will be audited after six months. The governor reminded them that they are to serve for only six months, before the election of Executive Chairmen for the same 27 L.G.As.

“All of you must live in the village, if any of you does not live in the village before now, let the person relocate immediately to the village to make sure this job is carried very well, I don’t want to see any of you in the town, stay in the villages and ensure that your people feel the impact of this government positively”, Governor Ihedioha warned.

The Governor also told the chairmen to come to his office in the morning for important briefing, after which they will proceed to their L.G.As to swear in members of their interim management committee. “Imo is today free, very free from any form of bad government, Imo must work, so you you must all work, because Imo must be rebuilt”, Governor Ihedioha reassured.

Speaking on behalf of the newly sworn in Chairmen, Mrs. Ngozi Oguike, Chairman/Chairlady Isiala Mbano L.G.A in her vote of thanks, thanked the Governor for the opportunity given to them to serve the good people of Imo state through their L.G.As, she promised on behalf of others that they will not only be transparent, zealous, hardworking, but also they will exhibit absolute accountability, reliability and agility in making sure that Imo is rebuilt.
