2019: OGUN CUPP ADOPTS ATIKU

The Ogun State chapter of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has instructed all its members to vote for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Atiku Abubakar on Saturday’s presidential election.

Speaking with journalists after a meeting with the Deputy Chairman, PDP Presidential Campaign Council (South), Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the chairman of Ogun CUPP, Chief Sola Coker stated that the leadership of the CUPP has resolved to endorse Atiku because of his exemplary leadership qualities which are essential ingredients to drive the nation forward.

Atiku, he said, is a true Nigerian who possesses all that it takes to drive a country and make it work in all ramifications.

In his words: “Atiku is an unbiased Nigerian, a true nationalist who has the interest of every Nigerian at heart. The issue of restructuring of the country as spelt out in his policy plans has endeared him to many Nigerians across all divides and that is why the entire membership of the CUPP has unanimously agreed to vote him as the president on Saturday”.

He then called on potential voters in Ogun State and Nigerians in general to shun sentiments by voting out mediocrity and myopic leaders who have shown gross incompetence in all spheres of governance.

Thanking the representatives of the over forty-five political parties who openly declared support for Atiku ahead of the presidential election, Otunba Daniel assured of better days for the people of the country with Atiku presidency. The presidential election, he said is not just about two people or two political parties. “The presidential election is not about the PDP or the APC neither is it about Atiku or Buhari. It is about progress and retrogression, it is about abundance and want, it is about the future of Nigeria, Nigerians and generations unborn. That is why everybody must rise up and partake in the ideal process of changing a nonperforming government by going out to vote for the PDP in Saturday. That is our date with destiny”, he concluded.
