All the leaders of APGA from the 36 states of the federation and Abuja met today at Enugu where the party adopted the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate.
Addressing the media after the adoption at the Top Rank Hotels Enugu, Chief Jerry Obasi, the factional National chairman of APGA said, the Atiku promised to restructure the country and make the economy work again while providing the environment for job and wealth creation.
“We can’t allow APGA to be destroyed by strangers that invaded our party. Some people claim that they are the leaders of APGA, but they are at a different place while the soul of the party is somewhere else.”
Former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Chief Dubem Onyia, who accepted the letter of adoption, on behalf of Atiku, applauded APGA for offering to partner the PDP candidate in the struggle to reclaim Nigeria.
He assured that Atiku would not disappoint Nigerians and APGA members, if elected because he has enormous experience to turn the fortunes of the nation around.
With this adoption, the faction of APGA led by Oye and Obiano have lost grip of the real APGA voters to do their bidding for APC.
