Renowned as a Frontline crusader against the worrisome scourge of breast and cervical cancers plaguing the African woman, wife of Kwara State Governor, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed flanked by efforts of her team of equally passionate volunteers at LEAH foundation have put paid to their promise to help women in Kwara combat the hydra-headed terminal ailment.
For the deaconess, the month of February 2019 has been underscored by serial win, as she finally launches for full operation, the highly acclaimed LEAH Medical Center.
LEAH Medical Center a multi-million naira cancer diagnostic and treatment center has now opened to cater for patients with cancer; and onward referrals are made for more complicated cases. LEAH foundation in nearly eight years have been consistent in the fight against Breast and Cervical Cancer, and they have championed state-wide campaigns round the 16LGAs of Kwara State.
LEAH Foundation, an initiative of Deaconess Omolewa Ahmed is an Ilorin based non-governmental organization with a focus on the eradication of cancer in women.
The organization has been admitted into several international organizations including Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), African Organization For Research Training in Cancer (AORTIC), ECOSOC United Nations.
Mrs. Ahmed said her advocacy drive was borne out of the alarming rate at which breast and cervical cancers affect women, a situation she attributed to lack of adequate awareness and lack of periodic screening.
Services at the medical center Deaconess Omolewa have assured would be affordable; while allaying the fears of persons that could be financially constrained.

To further sensitize people about the effect of cancer scourge, Leah Foundation in partnership with Sterling Bank powered Diamond In The Sky, a movie produced by cross over filmmaker and actor, Femi Adebayo and directed by multiple Award winning director, Kunle Afolayan.
The star-studded movie which premiered at Viva Cinemas, Ilorin had in attendance; Her Excellency, First Lady of Kwara State, Deaconess Omolewa Ahmed, ace director, Kunle Afolayan, top actor, Femi Adebayo, A-list Nollywood stars such as Toyin Abraham, Chioma Akpota, Ayo Mogaji among many others.
The movie features more stars such as Joke Silva, Ali Nuhu, Mogaji Majinyawa, Yvonne Jegede-Fawole, Yemi Shodimu, Prof Ayo Akinwale and Ebun Oloyedeand lots more. The drama takes viewers through a roller coaster of emotions like Love, joy and disappointment all coming together to play in this outstanding flick.
