Ekiti State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has
commenced a thorough evaluation of Institutions in its charge to
identify their challenges and fashion out strategies towards improving
service delivery at the Institutions.
The Institutions concerned include Women Development and Skills
Acquisition Centre behind the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Ado
Ekiti, Women Development and Skills Acquisition Centre, Ipoti-Ekiti
and Cassava Cottage Industry, Osin-Ekiti.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs Foluke Adeyemo who made
this known in Ado Ekiti, explained that the evaluation exercise was
to ascertain the present condition of the facilities at the Centres
and how to put them in proper condition to achieve the objectives such
institutions are established.
Mrs Adeyemo said that the Ministry had set up a 7-Man committee
headed by the Director of Social Welfare in the Ministry, Mrs Olabisi
Fatoba which has two weeks to submit its report.
The Permanent Secretary noted that Social Investment is one of the
four pillars of the present administration stressing that the Ministry
has to live up to its responsibility towards achieving the desired
goals.
She therefore charged members of the committee to be assiduous in
the onerous assignment committed to their hands to enable them come up
with a credible report that would help the state take full possession
of the facilities and put them to good use.
The Permanent Secretary thereafter urged the staff of the Ministry
to familiarize themselves with the values and ethics of the civil
service and live by the standard.
She also informed the out station staff of the ministry that there
would be another in-house training for them too to enable enjoy the
Staff Capacity Building Programme of the Ministry.
Mrs. Fatoba who emphasized the need for all civil servants to be
prepared to excel at all times irrespective of any impromptu exams or
interview they may be called for also charged them diligent and do
their work in accordance with the year’s work plan.
