Lagos UDP governorship candidate Sam Uche Anyamele takes his campaign rally to Ebute Metta

Dr Sam Uche Anyamele of the United Democratic Party, UDP, who flagged off his campaign last weekend, is intensifying his effort to become the next governor of Lagos state as he takes his campaign to Ebute Metta part of the state.

The rally held at the Apostolic Play Ground, Okobaba Osholake, Ebute Metta (East), Onyingbo, on Thursday, which saw the people of the community and environs braced the rain to troop out en masse to witness a renewed hope.

Also at the rally was European election observer and researcher, Leila Demarest, an Assistant Professor of African Politics, Leiden University, The Netherlands, and her Research Assistant, Faustino Babatunde, from the University of Lagos.

Dr Anyamele and his running mate, Mrs Iyabo Nurat Bello, assured the people of the area which has been neglected by previous governments of special attention if and when elected into office.

With emphasis on education, empowerment and development which the community lacks, the UDP candidates outlined the party’s vision to bring good governance to such places which for years has been sidelined.

Mrs Bello, who is a known philanthropist working with different Non-Governmental Organisations, NGOs and a Lagosian by Birth and by Marriage was touched by the plight of the residents of that ghetto area of Lagos and vowed that the UDP will change the face of the community for good when voted into office.

Present at the rally were the UDP executive members, both state and national, including Hon, Anthony Emechebe and Hon. Ayodele Johnson, other distinguished guests and eminent personalities from all walks of life also graced the occasion.
