.ADVOCATES HOUSE-TO-HOUSE CAMPAIGN TO ENSURE VICTORY
Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, has urged All
Progressives Congress (APC) members in Ado-Ekiti to be united and work
hard to achieve victory for President Muhammadu Buhari in the February
16 presidential election.
Egbeyemi urged them to sell Buhari’s candidacy, manifesto and
achievements in office for over three years to the electorate in their
various polling units and wards for the President to remain in office
beyond 2019 to continue his good work.
The deputy governor tasked members to commence aggressive mobilization
drive and house-to-house campaign to ensure victory for Buhari, APC
National Assembly and State House of Assembly candidates.
According to a statement on Tuesday signed by his Special Assistant
(Media), Odunayo Ogunmola, Egbeyemi made the call when he hosted a
meeting with party leaders and members from all the 13 wards in
Ado-Ekiti at his private residence.
The meeting was attended by House of Representatives candidate for
Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1, Mr. Olusola Fatoba; House of
Assembly candidate for Ado Constituency 1, Mr. Oluwatoyin Lucas and
candidate for Ado Constituency 2, Mrs. Kemi Famuagun Balogun.
Egbeyemi had earlier held a separate meeting with APC members from his
native Ado Ward 8 whom he urged to ensure victory for the party in all
the polling units.
Addressing party leaders and members, the deputy governor urged
aspirants who did not secure party’s tickets at the last primaries to
work for the candidates.
Egbeyemi explained that Buhari’s victory at the February 16 election
means a lot to the APC and Ekiti State which he said is benefiting
from the Federal Government in terms of policies, projects and
appointments of indigenes of the state to key positions.
He stressed that Ekiti must not disappoint the APC-led Federal
Government hence the need to return massive votes for the party to
justify request for more projects and appointments of party faithful
to enviable offices.
Egbeyemi said: “Let us take the coming election serious because if
Buhari wins, we will get many goodies from the Federal Government to
our state and our people.
“Let’s go out and reach out to eligible voters to vote massively for
our party on February 16 and March 2. Let us convince our friends,
neighbours, family members, traders, artisans and others to vote APC.
“We are in for a serious business in the coming elections, party
members who want positions must deliver votes to justify their
aspiration and with unity and God on our side, we shall win Ekiti for
Buhari.”
Egbeyemi also canvassed support for the Kayode Fayemi administration
which he said has been making a positive impact in the lives of the
people since coming to power in October last year.
The deputy governor disclosed that since the government came to
office, many local and foreign donors have been coming to Ekiti to
assist in the development of the state because of the personality and
good governance credentials of Fayemi.
Fatoba, who also addressed the gathering, hailed Egbeyemi for being a
father figure to APC members not only in Ado Ekiti but in the entire
state.
The House of Representatives flag bearer said the task to win Ekiti
for APC at the forthcoming general elections was a collective one that
must be achieved with unity of purpose.
