The Buhari Presidency has elevated cronyism to such a befuddling level that Chapter II of the 1999 Constitution appears suspended and jettisoned. Does it remind you of Buhari the Despot and the Dictator?
The principles of Federal Character yet not amended by the Legislature, have been thrown overboard by the Czar and Overlord in Aso Rock Villa, and to the bewilderment of Patriots and well meaning Nigerians, there are groups of unpatriotic elements who supporting Citizen Buhari see no wrong in the appointment of a relative of Buhari to Chair the Committee that will superintend over INEC Collation Centres for the Presidential Election. How SOULLESS!
The question to the APC, to all Buhari supporters and to INEC, is this, ‘Is cronyism a new branch in the street of integrity that you weave? Is nepotism, cronyism and bigotry not corruption? Are there no other competent Directors in INEC that can oversee the Committee in-charge of the Presidential Election Collation Centres, than a relative of President Buhari who is an interested Party and a candidate in the forthcoming election? What happened to your collective conscience? What happened to your sense of decorum? And what happened to the normative called DUE PROCESS?
To the INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION, INEC, a textbook of explanations regarding the propriety of the appointment of a relative of a Presidential candidate to oversee the Presidential Election Results Collation Centres is but tommyrot, gibberish and an exercise in futility. You have exposed to the world that you are biased, and that you will be an unfair and compromised Umpire. We therefore reject the appointment, and call on well meaning Nigerians, Patriots and Statesmen alike to prevail on INEC to rescind the provocative appointment of an otherwise interested Party to superintend over the Presidential Election Results Collation Centres.
To those who defend and excuse the clearly corrupt, corruptive and corruptible appointment of Amina Zakari as the defacto ‘CHIEF RETURNING OFFICER’ to a Presidential Election that has her relative as a Presidential candidate, we ask, what happened to your sense of justice, of fairness, of equity, of morality, and of what is proper trite and right?
It is saddening to conclude, that supporting Buhari does a terrible thing to the minds of the otherwise smart. They defend the improper with the lowest moral thought process ever known to humankind. They lack the requisite love needed to move our nation forward so much so that they validate one failure with another failure. And they excuse the inexcusable. We wonder what the NEXT LEVEL of their endless EXCUSES, soulless protocols, inexplicable appointments, and incorrigible shenanigans portend to our nation?
*We hereby put it on record that we do not trust the avowal of the Buhari Presidency with regards to free, fair and credible election come February 16, 2019, and we believe that the APC and INEC are in cahoots to subvert the right of the people to transparent and credible polls come February. It is obvious that the greatest threat to our democracy is the impious, impish and devious collaboration of the APC/Buhari Presidency and INEC to compromise the integrity of the forthcoming election. But make no mistake, we shall along with the Nigerian masses resist them, challenge them and fight for the dignity and the sanctity of the Electoral Process as we match ahead with the unalterable resolve and commitment to GET NIGERIA WORKING AGAIN.*
