Why i want to be Gov segun Odegbami

Why i want to be Gov segun Odegbami

I use this opportunity to thank you all for the various roles you have played in my life in the making of MATHEMATICAL, an ordinary Nigerian with some sports talent that you supported to become a football hero, showcasing and promoting our people and country as a responsible, respectable and dignified sports partner in the world.

I humbly, diligently and successfully served my country to the best of my ability, and still do in other little ways in other fields of human endeavour.

Once again, I am presenting myself for public service to my country in my State. In the established tradition of serving my country, I shall be giving my all to creating and projecting a future that will reflect the best version of who we are as Nigerians, a great people in the global comity of nations.

I have a very clear and simple vision of how to make my own contributions towards the evolution of a new State and country, one representing the best of human traditions and values, by deploying the best amongst us to create a showpiece to the world, à geographical space that will be the best and safest place on earth to live, to work, to play, to invest, to be healthy and to be happy.

It is not such a lofty and impossible mission considering the resources we have been blessed with in human capacity, by nature, by history, our rich traditions and culture, and the will to win against the odds in a world so far NOT designed for the Black race to succeed.

But succeed we will when we start to elect leaders from the rich stock of decent, compassionate, hardworking population of people of good conduct and character, verifiable credentials, and whose commitment is to the good of all, and not to personal, parochial and narrow interests.

Today, I am being honoured by a national publication, City People Magazine, with an opportunity to share my thoughts and vision with the public at an event in Lagos called ‘Conversation with Segun Odegbami’.

It takes place at the City People event centre at Gbagada, almost opposite Charlie Boy bus stop, from 3pm this evening.

I have been told that my contribution to the event is to be present and to invite my friends, family and fans. It is free, I am also told.

That’s why I am humbly inviting those of you that can spare an hour or two of your valued time to come and join me for the conversation.

I am excited at the prospect of doing in politics what I did successfully in football – play, score goals and win for club and country. That spirit is still burning inside of me.

Come and hear today how we shall do it together again when I contest for the governorship of Ogun State in 2 months’ time on the platform of a brand new party, Zenith Labour Party, a party of the Nigerian workers, a clean party without all the baggage ànd garbage that bedevil other major political parties in the country where my dream of a truly great country, the greateat Black country in the world, cannot be fulfilled.

This may be the greatest challenge of my life, yet I believe, it will also become my greatest triumph when the votes are cast and counted in March 2019.

Join me today to see how that battle will be fought and won by decency, humility, antecedents, morals, good conduct, genuine credentials, capacity and integrity.
