The Office of the Attorney-General Ekiti State has announced fundamental changes in the administration of the Ministry.
Olawale Fapohunda the Attorney-General of the State announced the new structure during the end of year meeting of the Ministry. According to him the deployments were aimed at professionalising and repositioning the Ministry for effective and efficient service delivery for the people of Ekiti State.
He said the Fayemi administration recognised the important role of the Ministry in the socio economic development of the State and it was necessary that the Ministry should rise up to the expectation of the administration.
Under the new arrangement, Three Directors have been redeployed, Six Special Assistants have been appointed, Thirty-Five Legal Advisers have also been deployed to MDAs.
There is now a new Department of Corporate and Commercial Law and the Departments of Law Review and Legal Research has been merged into one single Department now known as Department of Law Review and Research.
Highlights of the new postings include: Ebenezer Akomolafe leaves the Department of Law Review to become Director of the newly created Office of Monitoring and Evaluation in the Office of the Attorney-General.
Adeniyi Familoni is now the Director, Public Prosecutions.
He replaces Gbemiga Adaramola who now heads the newly created Department of Corporate and Commercial Law.
Adegboyega Morakinyo the Administrator-General & Public Trustee now becomes Director, Citizens’ Rights, while O. P. Alabi has been redeployed from Citizens’ Rights to become the Administrator-General & Public Trustee.
Six Special Assistants to the Attorney-General have been appointed as follows:
Special Assistant on Civil Litigation – Julius Ajibare;
Special Assistant on Criminal Litigation – Ilesanmi Adelusi;
Special Assistant on Public Education, Media & Communication – Tunde Olaolorun.
Special Assistant on Professional Development & Coordinator, Ministry of Justice Academy – Femi Onipede;
Special Assistant on Gender and Vulnerable Persons – Oluwaseyi Ojo;
Special Assistant on Cyber Crime and Related Matters – Dolapo Oyewole.
All the appointments are to take effect immediately.
