The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has assured the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP, that if elected, he would stick to the tradition of the former ruling party to run a government of national unity.

The presidential candidate and his campaign team led by Senate President Bukola Saraki met with the coalition in Abuja on Friday following his recent adoption by the collation as its sole candidate for the 2019 election.

DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that the team met with the leadership of 43 Political Parties present and has promised to run an all-inclusive government of national unity.

“Ensure that all Parties in the coalition will be treated fairly before, during and after the election.

“Ensure that all the Parties in the coalition shall work hard for the success of the Atiku project.

“Organize a grand public declaration and presentation of the presidential candidate to formalise the candidate’s endorsement by the CUPP as soon as possible. Prince Oyinlola has been assigned to arrange that by Alhaji Abubakar.”

“I want to assure you that as long as we have a government of national unity, there will not be a cabal,” he said.

He commended them for adopting him but reminded the collation that it must not rest on its oars until the mission to oust President Muhammadu Buhari from office is accomplished.
