The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul-Hamed Salawu has approved the reconstruction of the Bashua Primary Health Centre with a new and befitting face-lift, this decision is in line with his commitment and resolve to provide quality health care services to the door step of every Somolu citizens.
This approval for reconstruction which was further attested to by the Supervisor for Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Kabir Raji, said that the decision for the approval was reached at one of their weekly executive meetings.
On his part, the Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Anjorin Abiodun, while monitoring the demolition of the old and dilapidated PHC structure emphasized that the approval was in line with the determination of the chairman to fulfil some of his campaign promises and give the people the dividends of democracy as the health of his people remain one of his priority.
It should be noted that first level of contact for individuals, families and communities with the national health system remains the PHCs which has been modeled to achieve universal health care goals by providing accessible, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services with emphasis on preventive medicine and health care services at the grassroots.
A resident member in Oluwadare area, Mrs Funmilayo commended the chairman for the laudable move and steps taken to revamp the health center which has been in shambles over the years.
