Before the nomination of the current senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District in 2011, he was a Permanent Secretary and was nominated by Hon. Bayo Osinowo after former Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora refused a return to the senate and the seat became vacant.
When the leaders of the party were scouting for who will represent the East and needed someone who had some form of pedigree, it was Hon. Bayo Osinowo who stood up to recommend that the then Per,.Sec, Land be sent to represent the zone as he had played a particular vital role in that administration to merit such an honour (the words of Bayo Osinowo).
Fast-farward to 2018, the Senator representing Lagos East, Gbenga Ashafa has done creditably well, no doubt, but that seat is not his family nor constitutional inheritance and must give other people the opportunity to via for same position as it is customary in a political party system where positions are taken turn-by-turn by members of the party, meaning that the position being occupied today by Gbenga Ashafa is not hereditary, so, other party men and women must be allowed the freedom to contest to occupy any position of their choice, be it the same he occupies now.
What baffles some of us is the reason why there are many attacks on the person of Hon. Bayo Osinowo, Member representing Kosofe Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly because he has indicated interest to contest for a position he has rights to contest for as enshrined in the constitution for citizens of Nigeria and they claim he is not popular enough?
Even when Bayo Osinowo has not at any point in time responded to any of the attacks being meted out to him on a daily basis on Social Media, they still do not understand the fact that a Golden fish has no hiding place and the fact that there is no stopping a man whose time has come.
The question some of the residents of Lagos East Senatorial District should be asking these people peddling all these lies and falsified informations against Bayo Osinowo is, WHY THEY ARE HAVING SLEEPLESS NIGHTS OVER A MAN WHO DOES’T EVEN KNOW THEY EXIST? If they are important to the political ambition of Bayo Osinowo, maybe he would have responded to them, but his silence should tell them that of a truth, TWO PEOPLE DO NOT RUN MAD AT THE SAME TIME.
You claim he is not exposed and at the same time, say he has a Diploma and a Masters Degree and I ask, was he taught to obtain these degrees in his home as a student? What is the yardstick for measuring exposure if not through education and he is still not exposed in your own sight?
Look, it doesn’t matter how much you vilify him, this is his time and no one can stop a man who has the SEAL OF GOD upon him and this is the fate of Bayo Osinowo, aspirant for the Lagos East Senatorial seat and again, is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu not a big enough political institution to quality anybody with the highest qualifications in Political Science in Nigerian and in Africa?
One-thing is certain therefore. No matter the amount of abuse and false Social Media campaigns against this man, there is no stopping him as this is his time and no man born of a woman can stop him excerpt God and in this case, God has sanctioned this one and there is no going back.
