CALL FOR ENTRIES INTO ADVANCED CLINIC 2
By Gbenga Bada
Seasoned media practitioner, Femi Akintunde-Johnson, has called for entries into the next edition of the Advanced Clinic for journalists and other media workers. It is slated to start September 1, 2018.
Tagged “Advanced Clinic with the FAJ”, the educative session aims at improving writing and reportorial skills of practicing journalists, public relations practitioners and others keen about proper communication.
The last edition of the Clinic, which lasted four weeks, had practitioners from the broadcast, print and online media as attendees.
For every class, FAJ brings his brilliance to fore by carefully impacting and educating participants on the use of English Language and best practices widely accepted across the world.
The “Advanced Clinic” provides participants with opportunity to interact with one another during classes and also gain from the wealth of experience shared by senior colleagues.
One of the major highlights of the professional clinic is the calibre of industry eggheads who form a list of guest speakers. Each guest speaker takes participants on a journey of the media practice. For four weeks, different guest speakers from broadcast and print media educate participants on how to better their writing and reporting skills.
Aside the ambience of the classroom, participants are always encouraged to interact with FAJ, who is referred to as The Coach, during class sessions.
“My time at the Advanced Clinic was an eye opener. It helped me understand some of the little mistakes that have become norm in news reports. The class has also helped me horn my editing skills and my editor can be sure of a error-free news stories and articles,” a participant enthused.
