The Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State has warns the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)not to be part of the conspiracy whereby members of the Party are being denied from obtaining their voters card as the July 14 governorship election draws closer.
The party noted that many of its members have not been able to collect their voters card despite the persistent visit to the INEC offices at the local government areas, the was case being in Ado Ekiti.
In a statement by the PDP State publicity secretary, Mr Jackson Adebayo many members of the party have reported that they were been asked to name their party before the card are issued adding that immediately any only reply that he or she is a member of PDP, then the unending search for the card would begin.
He added that in most cases when some INEC staff discover that those who queue to collect voters card are members of PDP these compromised personels would come out with one delay or denial tactics as the situation may warrant.
Adebayo stressed that efforts by the PDP members to appeal for fair treatment by the so called staff are being thwarted everyday, hence they resulted to report the experience at the party Secretariat.
We appeal to the leadership of the independent national electoral commission commence an investigation into the activities of their staffers especially at the local government areas because some of them a times even use to display their hatred to the PDP members whenever they want to collect their voters card.
In reaction to a former member of the Party, Hon Adeniran Alagbada who said that he decided to resign from the party because of factional issues in the party, the PDP spokesman said that such a statement could only be made by a drowning man who is just trying to justify a self inflicted calamity.
“PDP in Ekiti state is united in structure, vision and mission ; there’s no member of the party that can point to any division within it’s ranks except such a member has been planted as a mole from the the beginning.”
“We key into the continuity agenda of our leader, the governor of Ekiti state, Dr Peter Ayo Fayose while its our belief that those political journey has been conterminated are the one leaving the party for greed and avarice.”
