Located in the Ciné Triomphe complex, which becomes the first technological and cultural complex in the country, Alpha Haiti aims to foster an environment conducive to the creation of start-ups, support for innovative projects and training in the field of new technologies and entrepreneurship.
As part of the launch activities, Elumelu addressed a group of young Haitian entrepreneurs in a keynote titled; ‘How entrepreneurship significantly leads to economic growth in Africa, and what Haiti can learn from it’, in which he shared experiences from the Tony Elumelu Foundation; building the largest entrepreneurship programme in Africa, to inspire and galvanise the entrepreneurial passion in Haiti. “As a country with a very young population – 70% of Haiti is under 30 – embracing entrepreneurship as a vehicle for sustainable and inclusive growth is critical and I commend the government for prioritising the youth and SMEs,” he said.
