Former Senate president and current serving senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator David Mark has said that PDP in Ekiti state is alive, waxing stronger in the face of challenges.
He made this statement today while responding to questions from journalists at the Government house, Ado- Ekiti.
The senator revealed that he is quite impressed by the party’s show of unity and discipline as these were necessary elements crucial to its strength and being a force to reckon with in the state.
” From my perspective, PDP in Ekiti is very much alive and waxing stronger. The members are all united towards one goal and I can effectively say that we are quite ready for the July 14th elections which would see us being victorious and gaining the leadership of Ekiti once more”.
On the issue of challenges and perceived bickering among the 3 governorship aspirants in the party, Senator David Mark maintained that it is quite normal for these to be existent in a party and that all issues have been settled with the 3 candidates agreeing to support whoever wins in the forthcoming primaries.
Senator David mark who is on a political visit to Ekiti State as at yesterday over saw the party’s ward congress which was held to elect 3 ad hoc delegates across the 177 wards in the state who would be saddled with the responsibility of voting for their preferred candidate during the primaries.
“The congress was a major success, we have resolved all intra party cases and every elected delegate has ensured the party that they would all work towards having a free, fair and credible election devoid of violence” ,he said.
