Ekiti State Police Command this morning arraigned Bamidele Temitope, Afolabi Sunday and Shuaibu Amidu in the Ekiti State Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.
In the suit with Charge Number MAD/019C/2017, the men were arraigned over alleged theft of $50,000 purportedly belonging to Governor Ayodele Fayose’s Personal Assistant, Sunday Omosilade.
In a two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy, the police said that on December 29, 2016, Bamidele and Afolabi conspired to steal $50, 000 in the Government House “belonging to  one Sunday Omosilade, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 390 of the Criminal Code Cap C16, Laws of Ekiti State 2012″.
In the second count, Amidu, a street foreign exchange operator, was charged for becoming “an accessory after the fact of felony to Afolabi Sunday when you changed $20,000 stolen money to naira denomination for him”.
Olota News Review had on Monday broken the news of the arrest of Fayose’s aides over theft of millions of naira in the Government House with Fayose’s mistress, now at large, bolting away with N75m.
Fayose’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, took to the media to deny any theft in the Government House, calling opposition members names and insisting that  the story was a lie by the opposition APC to discredit the  governor.
But on Monday, Olota News Review gave an update on the incident, insisting that the theft actually took place with the suspects already in police net.
In the Monday report, Olota News Review wrote;
“Despite denials from Governor Fayose’s media aides that his lover did not bolt with his N75m as reported recently by Olota News Review, we can authoritatively tell you that some domestic staff in the Ekiti State Government House, including a steward, cook and gardener, are currently in police net over the matter.
“The governor’s PA on Domestic Matters, Sunday Omosilade, also got demoted over the matter. The Afao born PA was lucky as he narrowly escaped being sacked. He was redeployed to the office of the Wife of the Governor as a lesser officer.
“With this, more facts have emerged about the stolen N75 million. The money was actually in British Pound Sterling. The total amount was £1,100,000 (One Million, One Hundred Thousand Pounds) out of this amount, one hundred and fifty thousand pounds equivalent of N90 million was stolen by Fayose’s lover together with a steward, cook, gardner and other Government House domestic staff.
 “Out of this amount, Fayose’s lover made away with £125,000 pounds equivalent of N75 million, leaving the balance of £25,000 for the steward, Gardner and others to share amounting to N15,000,000. It was part of this £25,000 that was later found, hidden  under a flower in the surrounding of the chalet where Fayose’s lover stayed before she bolted with the money. The theory now is that, Fayose’s lover did not act alone but in concert with the Government House steward, cook, gardner and other domestic staff who are now in police net.
 “It was the steward who was actually caught at a Bureau de change where he was trying to change his own share which is  an undisclosed amount of British Pounds to naira. “When he was nabbed, the steward spilled the beans and took security operatives to where the remaining pounds were kept under the flower.
“He also mentioned all those involved in the deal who are now cooling their heels at the police station. The young lady in question who is the latest millionaire courtesy of Fayose, is still nowhere to be found as she has reportedly relocated.
“Olota News Review authoritatively gathered that Fayose was so pained and felt betrayed by the lady’s behaviour that he ordered her house and those of her parents to be vandalised by thugs who threatened them that failure to produce their daughter will earn them unpleasant consequences from the governor. “The poor parents said they didn’t know the whereabouts of their daughter and that the last they heard about her through her friends was that she had relocated outside the country.
“Fayose goons and security agents are still on the trail of the lady as at press time while the Government House staff who colluded with her are still cooling their heels in police cell. “Even though Governor Fayose is trying frantically to keep the story away from the press, Olota News Review will keep you updated.”
The three suspects were taken to court this morning in the case to be handled by Chief Magistrate Adegboye.
Fayose had managed to conduct the trial secretly without the usual media hype associated with the cases of the opposition members the governor took to court over trumped-up charges. Government House workers are asking where Sunday Omosilade got $50,000 dollars as a PA to the governor. Omosilade is only a cover for Fayose as the money belonged to the Governor.
Our Government House sources said the governor did not want to confirm to the public that he keeps mistresses in the Government House, with one of them bolting with N75m so he did not want to own up to the ownership of the money.
The governor is still in pains over the theft, but Olota News Review can confirm authoritatively that Fayose’s mistress has fled Nigeria
