Ondo state Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, on Wednesday, led the Ondo State a high-profile delegation to offer condolences to the family of the late legal icon, elder statesman and founder of Nigeria Advanced Party, Dr Tunji Braithwaite, at their Victoria Island, Lagos, where he declared that the legacy left behind by the deceased will reverberate positively for a long time.
Mimiko accompanied by the Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Jumoke Akindele, members of the Ondo State Executive and other PDP stalwarts in Ondo state was as received by members of the family of the late legend led by the Matriarch of the family, Mrs Grace Simisola Braithwaite.

Delivering the condolence message on behalf of Ondo State, Governor Mimiko described the deceased as a distinguished Nigerian who contributed immensely to the development of the country and excelled in all ramifications of life.
“Dr Tunji Braithwaite has left a name that will reverberate in positively in the consciousness of all Nigerians. He was a man of honour who distinguished himself in all areas. In the legal profession, he was a man of profound love for the downtrodden. He never lost torch with the grassroot despite his pedigree. Nigeria of his dream will be achieved by virtue of the people he influenced when he was alive. He was a titan, a crusader for social justice. He left good legacy for his family and we are proud of his legacy.
“We thank God for the family he left behind. The country he left behind may not be there yet but some of us are incurable optimists that in spite of the challenges of today, with the virtues of the likes of late Dr. Tunji Braithwaite and the fact the he influenced numerous young people in the course of his life, I have no doubt in my mind that this country will get there” Mimiko said
Responding on behalf of the family, one of his sons, Olumide Braithwaite, thanked Governor Mimiko and his entourage for the visit, describing Mimiko as one of the progressive Governors in the Southwest, which he said endeared him to his late father.
