Ending Decades of Neglect By Successive Govts, Mimiko to Commission 27.5 Km Road In Irele Council Area
After decades of neglect by his predecessors, the Ondo state Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko will tomorrow, Thursday, commission the 27.5 kilometre Ayangba-Iyansan road in Irele local government area of the Southern Senatorial District of the state.
This great feat is part of the determination of the mimiko-led government to consolidate on its impressive record of infrastructural development in the state.
In a statement issued in Akure on Wednesday, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade, said the feat is an addition to the series of such roads which the government has been able to provide since assuming office.
The Commissioner reiterated that “In line with the Mimiko administration’s determination to ensure even distribution of the dividend of democracy among the people of the state, another landmark achievement of the administration will be recorded on Thursday when the Ayangba- Iyansan road will be commissioned.”
The Ajagba – Iyansan road is one of the over 1300km of roads that were built since Gov Mimiko assumed office in 2009 including additional 6 dualized roads which increased the number of dualized roads in the state from 2 to 8.
According to the Commissioner, the road will in no small measure ease transportation in and around the area, even as he described the development “ as yet another confirmation of the government’s developmental focus in the state”
