The Commissioner for Works in the state, Mr Ephraim Akparawa Inyang-Eyen gave the hint Thursday, 19th November when he led a team of engineers and principal officers of his ministry to inspect roads in Ini LGA.
Inyang-Eyen said he was directed by the governor to inspect and ascertain the current state of roads in the area.
He added that the governor is conscious of the historical significance and economic importance of the Obotme road as even the missionaries made use of the road in accessing the area and preaching the good news of Christ.
He said the road when completed will revive commercial activities between neighbouring states and open up the state to investments.
Inyang-Enyen said with the road in excellent shape, people from neighbouring states can use the Uyo airport which is nearer than other airports in the region.

He appealed to the people of Ini to cooperate with the contractors and help them gain access.
The commissioner said that this was not a time for people to build tombstones and other funny buildings by the roadsides.
The Chairman of Ini LG Transition Committee, Hon Etetim Anwatim expressed delight at the visit of the commissioner to the area. He said the inspection meant that it was time for Ini people to Dakkada, join hands with the present government in other to enjoy quality social amenities and be linked with other parts of the country.
