Osun PDP recommends Aregbesola for courses in management classes.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun state yesterday, urged Mr. Rauf Aregbesola to embark on intensive management classes, just as it advised him to stop blaming it for his woes that has led to series of civil unrest and demonstrations in the state.
The party, in a statement signed by its Director of Media & Strategy, Prince Diran Odeyemi in Osogbo yesterday said, rather than address any of the issues raised by it, Mr. governor and his aides resorted to outright lie and propaganda including abuses and name calling.
This is in reaction to the earlier statement credited to Governor Aregbesola spokesperson, that he was unable to pay salaries because PDP misruled Nigeria for 16 years.
“We wonder why a governor at the saddle of affair in the state for the past 5 years will now turn around and blame his woes on PDP and this is despite its promises and assurances during his re-election campaigns to put smiles on the faces of the people of Osun state”
“Is PDP to blame for Aregbesola purchasing and maintaining multi-million Naira helicopter, are we to blame for millions sunk into planting of flowers from Asejire to Ondo state, is PDP responsible for series of miscalculated political expenditure spearheaded by Aregbesola to impeach Gov Fayose, sponsor APC states and presidential campaigns, Is PDP responsible for inflated contracts on roads, schools and “opon imo”, it is obvious that Aregbesola has lost focus”
The Party referred Governor Aregbesola to the statement of fact by his fellow governor Comrade Oshiomhole “to brainstorm and re-strategise on raising the bar on governancenotwithstanding the drop in the nation’s revenue as he also warned that states facing financial crisis must stop blaming their woes on the global oil price
Osun PDP also lamented governor Aregbesola for running the state as sole administrator without commissioners for almost one year, adding that “Aregbesola should solely be held responsible for the quagmire the state has been plunged as he thinks alone, acts alone with no regard for anybody including his party the APC”
The statement further reads:”We want to inform the rest of the country that Aregbesola promised castle in the sky when campaigning for second term but has disappointed all.
“Till date, bailout funds he received in August is still stashed in some banks. Osun workers are still being owed five months pay, while he has commenced the process of retrenchment in all sector.
“We advise him not to implement the new salary table he is working on that will see some categories of workers lose half of their salaries, so as not to cause labour unrest” , the party concluded.
